This crossover is a 4th order Linkwitz-Riley design. This design is phase coherent and exhibits a completely flat summed response across it's entire range. It can be configured for three way mono, or two way stereo depending how the board is stuffed.

The PCB is single sided and through hole with some wire links on the top side. It's star earthed... because I could, if you prefer you could just draw a polygon over the whole thing and connect it to earth, it would probably make no difference. I have built this and it works fine, although I reccomend you check that the pin spacing of the capacitors suits the type you intend to use - I used 2.5mm pitch polyester MKS capacitors which may be inconveninetly fine for most other types.
The op amps are NE5532 unless you're building for audiophile use in which case you may opt for the more expensive but exceptionally good OPA2134 or similar. The op amps are basically unity gain buffers so really aren't that critical. Selection of other components is dependant on the crossover frequencies desired. Rod Elliott has written a good guide to this type of arrangement and handy calculator for component values which may be found here.
